A Song of Ice and Fire, Doctor Who, Merlin, Part 2

Merlin

I started watching Merlin only this year... and I crazy-watched through all the first three seasons (I finished them all in just four days, if I remember correctly). I really loved the chemistry between the actors, Merlin, Gwen, Arthur and Morgana. It was a fun and kind of refreshing take on the legend of King Arthur. I'm sure that most of the things happening in the series does not really follow the legend (and might be really far from the legend for all I know) but it doesn't really matter now, does it? It wouldn't be as fun if it were exactly the same.

Some great things to look forward to in the weekend (aside from Christmas, of course)! The series 4 finale of Merlin and the much-awaited Doctor Who Christmas Special. But first, the Merlin Series 4 Finale: The Sword in the Stone, Part 2.

I'm really excited for this, especially after watching last week's episode when all hope seemed lost. It was just frustrating to see your heroes losing. Anyway, you know it'll all turn out okay in the end but you just can't help but worry. And then, this teaser photo surfaces on teh internets:

From www.fanpop.com
Isn't it just absolutely annoying? You wonder what's going on, yeah? Is it some sort of... coronation perhaps, especially after the rather heartwarming Arthur-Gwen reunion scene in last week's episode? We'll see. I'm just really excited.

Here are also some dialogue teasers for the series 4 finale (also from www.fanpop.com):
  1. "I'll cover our tracks. You keep going."
  2. "So it is you, you are Emrys."
  3. "I came back because you're the only friend I have and I can't bear to lose you."
  4. "Well, well, well, look at you. First you go back to rescue your servant, and now you're getting your hands dirty?"
  5. "Everything I cherished between us, everything we had, it's gone."
  6. "The one thing I am not afraid of is death."
  7. "They will have to find themselves a new king."
  8. "I can cover many leagues in the blink of an eye, they shouldn't be too hard to find."
  9. "You're destined to be Albion's greatest king. Nothing, not even this stone can stand in your way. Have faith."
  10. "He fled Morgana. He trembled at the sight of you."
  11. "You have shown us that what you fight for is right and fair."
  12. "I just don't ever want to lose you."
And here's more:
  • Arthur is hesitant to leave his only friend behind.
  • Secrets are revealed between Agravaine and Emrys.
  • "There's nothing special about me. I'm just like everyone else."
  • The moment this episode is named after doesn't happen the way you think it will.
  • "There's only one person who could've done this; only one man who could command a dragon."
  • The confrontation between Morgana, ***, *** and *** is short-lived.
  • "What did I do to make you hate me so much?"
  • Three characters die but one of those doesn't stay that way.
I wish that the line "Everything I cherished between us, everything we had, it's gone," wouldn't be said by Arthur to Gwen, especially after their fucking tear-inducing reunion in Ealdor, but it seems kind of likely, if Arthur's still going to be Mr. PissyPants and not know that Gwen was enchanted. But then again, it could also be from Arthur to Agravaine since he trusted his uncle with his life and was even willing to let him assume the throne when he left with the intent to sacrifice himself to stop the Dorocha.

Also, it could be from Arthur to Morgana since they were really close before, and Arthur truly loved her like a sister... but now that's all gone to hell and shit. It could also be from Gwen to Morgana. They were really close friends before, almost like sisters and such, and considering the fight scene between Gwen and Morgana seen from last week's teaser trailer for the finale... it could be likely. Maybe Gwen will say that after Morgana reveals to her that she enchanted her to fall in love with Lancelot? We'll see...

I'm pretty sure the three characters who are going to die are Agravaine, Helios and Morgana and the one who wouldn't stay that way would be Morgana, since she'd probably be teaming up with Mordred in the very, very near future.

"What did I do to make you hate me so much?"  Now I think this one's from Arthur to Morgana, or it could also be from Arthur to Agravaine, although I'm leaning more towards the former.

It's about 99% confirmed that Agravaine will find out about Merlin being Emrys, and thus his magic, but we can't say the same for Arthur. I don't think I want Arthur finding out about Merlin's magic until the very, very last episode of the entire series, but I would like Morgana to know. Now. Please. That would show her *evil laugh*.

"There's only one person who could've done this; only one man who could command a dragon."  I don't know why, but in my mind I'm thinking that they'll think that Balinor is still alive, or some other dragonlord is still alive... but not Merlin. It's never Merlin, is it? *facepalm* Or, it could be some Targaryen, Danaerys perhaps? in the most epic crossover of a lifetime. *bow*

"I just don't ever want to lose you." Maybe from Gwen to Arthur or Arthur to Gwen... or, possibly a gift to the Merthur shippers out there from the writers, you never know! It could also be from Tristan to Isolde or the other way around. Now that I think about it, yeah, I think it's from Tristan to Isolde rather than from Arthur to Gwen.

So there you have it. I can't wait for the finale!
I don't want the series to end yet though.
Dilemma!

Next up: Doctor Who Christmas Special
