Awesome Season Finales are Awesome

I only just had time to catch up with Dexter and Boardwalk Empire this week, both of which already had their season finales and when I saw them I just... oh wow... I can't even.. I just... I don't know what....

It just blew my fucking mind! Granted, Dexter season 6 was quite... lackluster. I don't know what happened but it seemed like, compared to other seasons, Dexter became more careless or something. Hit and miss everywhere. But the finale, the last scene more specifically because I didn't really enjoy the whole finale episode so much (Colin Hanks just doesn't make a convincing villain), more than made up for it. And the irony of it all... that had me cracking up.

I wonder what will happen to Dexter next season? Would his own sister (by the way, spoilers) be hunting him down after she saw him kill that dude? I really don't see Dexter ending with Dexter alive and well. I think he's going to die. I'm almost positive that the end would be his death. After all, if it's about the elimination of serial killers... Dexter had to be the ultimate serial killer, right? And then Harrison will be left to the care of Deb?

And also, the Deb is in love with Dexter thing. I saw that coming from a mile away. Okay, maybe not a mile... possibly around season 2. And then I remembered what Dexter said about Deb in the pilot episode (and Michael C. Hall also said this about them), "If I'd have any feelings at all. I'd have them for Deb," or something to that effect. I don't know. We'll see. I'm excited for the next season. I consider season 5 and 6 just filler seasons. I'm quite optimistic that season 7 will be awesome.

As for Boardwalk Empire, man that was just... *breathes deeply*. When I saw what happened to Jimmy, I was like

Spoilers: Jimmy was one of my favorite characters (behind Richard Harrow, of course), but I kind of expected him to die (not this season though) because he was just an epic clusterfuck of a man. He was messed up. It was already very evident in the first season. I liked the idea of him taking over Atlantic City but somehow... I knew it wouldn't last. And his relationship with Angela was just a ticking time-bomb. There was no way it would have worked out.

And the thing between him and his mother? I hoped it would not happen but it seemed kind of inevitable. Ever since the first season, I knew there was something wrong with their relationship. When I first saw Gillian, I thought she was Jimmy's mistress. And well... I see what they did there.

I liked Jimmy but he had to go. There was no saving him.

But please. Don't kill Richard Harrow.

To Boardwalk Empire and Dexter!
