Christmas is more awesome with the Doctor!!!
Especially when I saw the house and the taps for hot water, cold water and LEMONADE!!!
"I know!" said the Doctor.
I was really excited for this Christmas episode because I really loved last year's A Christmas Carol. You know that feeling you have when you couldn't stay still and you just had to watch it?
So there I was, eating my Christmas sandwich and drinking some hot coco when suddenly tears burst forth from my eyes as I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special. I wasn't expecting to cry at this... especially since it was a Christmas episode and it was supposed to be HAPPY! Would I ever learn? I said the same thing about last year's Christmas special too.
I cried so hard at the part when they went into the time vortex and the mother was remembering her husband, especially at the part when she said "Goodbye, my love," or something like that. I couldn't properly remember. Tears were running down my cheeks and I couldn't see or hear properly.
Damn you Christmas special! Making me cry when it's supposed to be a happy holiday!
And then the mother started telling her children about their father dying. The Doctor interrupts them (or the Caretaker rather, seeing as he was known as the Caretaker, the Doctor or Get the hell off this planet!) and tells the mom, Madge, that they should go take a look outside! It turns out that the pilot father got out alive and well, something to do with her guiding him out of the cloudy and dark skies through the light of the time vortex or something. I can't remember correctly, I just can't... gah... too many emotions!!!
The family reunion scene!!!
"It's Christmas, dear, where else would you be?"
And then they were all crying happy tears, and the Doctor was happy for them, saying that happy tears were so "human". I thought the torment would end there because I just could not take it anymore! Then when he was about to leave, Madge tells him to stay for Christmas but he disagrees, saying he was used to being alone. Madge convinces him to see his friends though and he agrees and so he leaves, telling her that if she ever needs him again, just "make a wish".
He goes to visit Amy and Rory after two years of pretending to be dead. At this point, my tear ducts weren't even trying to suppress my tears. And I couldn't drink my hot coco because I'd look ridiculous, drinking while crying. The Doctor and Amy hug, forgiving each other and Amy invites him to dine with them, since a place was already set for him. The Doctor says they didn't know he was coming, so why set a place for him.
"We always set a place for you," says Amy.
And then Amy and Rory go ahead inside, and the Doctor stands there for a bit rather awkwardly. He touches his cheek... and there are tears. Happy tears.
And I'm crying and laughing at the same time and I look fucking ridiculous, but I don't care. The Doctor's happy. After all the shit he'd been through, thinking he was all alone in the world... there was still a place for him to come home to. The Ponds will always welcome him back with open arms.
For once though, the box being referred to was not the TARDIS.
I'm crying while I'm typing this.
Are you happy now Moffat? Huh?!! Are you happy?!
This episode made me realize how lucky I am, being with my family this Christmas. It also made me feel how much I miss my dad (something I've been trying to ignore ever since I found out he couldn't spend Christmas with us this year). To my mom and dad: I LOVE YOU!!!
I had a really great time with the Doctor. I hope I continue to have great times with him...
...forever!!!
Happy crying everybody!

Merlin Season 4 Finale
The Sword in the Stone Part 2
Spoilers, now and forever more.
I cried so hard...
...when Isolde died.
I don't know why. I wasn't even that fond of her, not too attached to the character either. But I really did cry when she fell, especially when she said "Hold me," to Tristan. That just blew up the tear ducts so bad. She was an OK character at best but... Well, perhaps it was because it's Christmas and people shouldn't die on CHRISTMAS!!!
Anyway, beginning of the episode... blah blah blah... they're running away from Agravaine. It was nice, especially since Merlin got to kick some serious ass and there was Dragon FIRE!!! Have I not said how awesome dragon-fire is? Yes, it is awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Agravaine found out that Merlin is Emrys but he promptly died minutes later. Yep... there goes the big reveal.
Then Tristan starts insulting/taunting Arthur and he's pissed. He's really pissed and I... like it, surprisingly. I never thought it would be that amusing to see Arthur pissed, especially since he decided to become an utter clotpole, telling Gwen, "Everything I cherished between us, everything we had, it's gone", when she was trying to comfort him. It almost felt good to see him losing hope and thinking he wasn't the rightful king of Camelot.
Stupid Arthur. I wanted to hit him.
And so to prove to him that he's the rightful king, Merlin made up a story about the Sword in the Stone, saying that only the rightful king could pull it out. I actually expected that part, so I wasn't too surprised. Merlin totally made it up! It's been in my mind ever since I watched Disney's Sword in the Stone.
This reinvigorated Arthur and so they set on to retake Camelot, but before everything else, Merlin sneaked into the castle disguised as Old Merlin to cast Silence on Morgana (tsk, the only way to have countered that, possibly, was an armor with a Golden Thief Bug Card). So, at the confrontation scene the next day, she wasn't able to use her magic against them. She tried to kill Gwen but was thwarted by Merlin, and she fled, dying.
I personally would have wanted Morgana to end up like Jory Cassel when he was stabbed in the eye by the Kingslayer...
...but I know that's just wishful thinking.
Helios gets killed by Isolde but he manages to land a blow just before he falls to the ground. Isolde... dies in the arms of Tristan, which prompts Arthur to realize that he doesn't ever want to lose Gwen. He asks her to marry him again and she says yes... and then she's crowned Queen of Camelot! Huzzah for Gwen! I was right about the picture of Merlin in my other post! It was for a coronation!
Last scene: Morgana stumbles through the forest, falls and almost dies, but was healed by... dum dum dum... Aithusa, Merlin's white dragon. I cannot believe it myself... I just can't. Is Aithusa going to be Morgana's dragon now? I thought dragons were supposed to follow only dragonlords? What the hell is going to happen next season then? Why do we have to wait so long?! I'm dying here.
So, some of my predictions regarding the dialogue teasers were spot-on, others were... not quite. I enjoyed the season finale though. It really was intense, but I just thought that the bit about Arthur and Gwen was rather... rushed? But maybe's that just me.
I was disappointed that they didn't reveal Merlin's magic to Morgana. But I was extremely glad that Merlin's magic was not revealed to Arthur. I want that to happen at the very last episodes, because that's what's keeping this show interesting. Will he find out? When? Will he ever? It's like unresolved sexual tension. It's so fun to watch.
It was a gleeful season. It had lots of ups and downs.
Bravo to everyone who made Merlin possible!
I cannot wait for season five!

A Song of Ice and Fire, Doctor Who, Merlin Part 3
Doctor Who
My first ever Doctor was David Tennant, so I don't think I can say I'm a die-hard Whovian. I became a fan after the episode Last of the Time Lords from Series 3 of the reboot. My favorite companion was Martha Jones and Amy Pond. I didn't like Rose so much. I don't know why. I have nothing against her. In fact, I think she's cool. Maybe it's just I wasn't really into Doctor Who yet when she was the companion so...
My favorite episode (so far) would have to be... The Shakespeare Code from Series 3 of the reboot! It's not Blink, although I loved Blink too! The angels scared the shit out of me. I guess I just liked the Shakespeare code because I'm a die-hard Shakespeare fan, and I loved all the Harry Potter references.
I cried when Tennant left. The regeneration scene still makes me so sad, every time I watch it. Unlike the others though, I didn't hate Matt Smith and I didn't expect to hate Matt Smith. And as it turned out, I was right. I liked him from his first episode onward. He was such a fun Doctor to watch.
I think that Matt Smith did a better job of being funny and eccentric than Tennant (that doesn't mean that David Tennant wasn't funny though). It just doesn't seem forced or anything and he is genuinely cool. Tennant on the other hand did a better job at the dramatic/guilt-ridden scenes. You can just feel the emotions rolling off of him in waves. And the Doctor's loneliness was very evident when Tennant played him.
Ah. I miss David Tennant.
Anyway, in the spirit of Christmas, our favorite Time Lord returns for the Christmas Special: The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe! The Doctor and Narnia and Christmas?! The Doctor and Narnia? Ultimate nerd fantasy!
I cannot even... I am just so... My eyes are brimming with tears right now! Here are also ten teasers (from www.digitalspy.co.uk). Have fun trying to guess what's going on!
And with that,
Happy holidays! Let's party!
Don't party too hard though.

- The episode picks up mere moments after the prequel ends.
- "Did you fall? Where did you fall from?"
- There's a moment that recalls the 1979 Bond film Moonraker.
- "I like the bombing - it's exciting!"
- The Doctor - briefly - has a new catchphrase.
- "Beware of panthers!"
- There is a reference to a Peter Davison-era Doctor Who adventure.
- "That man is quite ridiculous!"
- We also get a nod to an early Christopher Eccleston episode.
- "Eyes on the box!"
And with that,
Happy holidays! Let's party!
Don't party too hard though.

Christmas is Coming
Two days to go. When I was a kid, I used to look forward to Christmas and presents and shit. Now it's just extremely tiring. Christmas rush. People everywhere. Packed streets. Cars barely moving. Roads becoming the longest parking garages in the world.
This is how I feel every time I do my Christmas shopping:

Happy Holidays!!!

Awesome Season Finales are Awesome
I only just had time to catch up with Dexter and Boardwalk Empire this week, both of which already had their season finales and when I saw them I just... oh wow... I can't even.. I just... I don't know what....
And also, the Deb is in love with Dexter thing. I saw that coming from a mile away. Okay, maybe not a mile... possibly around season 2. And then I remembered what Dexter said about Deb in the pilot episode (and Michael C. Hall also said this about them), "If I'd have any feelings at all. I'd have them for Deb," or something to that effect. I don't know. We'll see. I'm excited for the next season. I consider season 5 and 6 just filler seasons. I'm quite optimistic that season 7 will be awesome.
As for Boardwalk Empire, man that was just... *breathes deeply*. When I saw what happened to Jimmy, I was like
Spoilers: Jimmy was one of my favorite characters (behind Richard Harrow, of course), but I kind of expected him to die (not this season though) because he was just an epic clusterfuck of a man. He was messed up. It was already very evident in the first season. I liked the idea of him taking over Atlantic City but somehow... I knew it wouldn't last. And his relationship with Angela was just a ticking time-bomb. There was no way it would have worked out.
And the thing between him and his mother? I hoped it would not happen but it seemed kind of inevitable. Ever since the first season, I knew there was something wrong with their relationship. When I first saw Gillian, I thought she was Jimmy's mistress. And well... I see what they did there.
I liked Jimmy but he had to go. There was no saving him.
But please. Don't kill Richard Harrow.
To Boardwalk Empire and Dexter!
It just blew my fucking mind! Granted, Dexter season 6 was quite... lackluster. I don't know what happened but it seemed like, compared to other seasons, Dexter became more careless or something. Hit and miss everywhere. But the finale, the last scene more specifically because I didn't really enjoy the whole finale episode so much (Colin Hanks just doesn't make a convincing villain), more than made up for it. And the irony of it all... that had me cracking up.
I wonder what will happen to Dexter next season? Would his own sister (by the way, spoilers) be hunting him down after she saw him kill that dude? I really don't see Dexter ending with Dexter alive and well. I think he's going to die. I'm almost positive that the end would be his death. After all, if it's about the elimination of serial killers... Dexter had to be the ultimate serial killer, right? And then Harrison will be left to the care of Deb?
And also, the Deb is in love with Dexter thing. I saw that coming from a mile away. Okay, maybe not a mile... possibly around season 2. A Song of Ice and Fire, Doctor Who, Merlin, Part 2
Merlin
I started watching Merlin only this year... and I crazy-watched through all the first three seasons (I finished them all in just four days, if I remember correctly). I really loved the chemistry between the actors, Merlin, Gwen, Arthur and Morgana. It was a fun and kind of refreshing take on the legend of King Arthur. I'm sure that most of the things happening in the series does not really follow the legend (and might be really far from the legend for all I know) but it doesn't really matter now, does it? It wouldn't be as fun if it were exactly the same.
Some great things to look forward to in the weekend (aside from Christmas, of course)! The series 4 finale of Merlin and the much-awaited Doctor Who Christmas Special. But first, the Merlin Series 4 Finale: The Sword in the Stone, Part 2.
I'm really excited for this, especially after watching last week's episode when all hope seemed lost. It was just frustrating to see your heroes losing. Anyway, you know it'll all turn out okay in the end but you just can't help but worry. And then, this teaser photo surfaces on teh internets:
Isn't it just absolutely annoying? You wonder what's going on, yeah? Is it some sort of... coronation perhaps, especially after the rather heartwarming Arthur-Gwen reunion scene in last week's episode? We'll see. I'm just really excited.
Here are also some dialogue teasers for the series 4 finale (also from www.fanpop.com):
Also, it could be from Arthur to Morgana since they were really close before, and Arthur truly loved her like a sister... but now that's all gone to hell and shit. It could also be from Gwen to Morgana. They were really close friends before, almost like sisters and such, and considering the fight scene between Gwen and Morgana seen from last week's teaser trailer for the finale... it could be likely. Maybe Gwen will say that after Morgana reveals to her that she enchanted her to fall in love with Lancelot? We'll see...
I'm pretty sure the three characters who are going to die are Agravaine, Helios and Morgana and the one who wouldn't stay that way would be Morgana, since she'd probably be teaming up with Mordred in the very, very near future.
"What did I do to make you hate me so much?" Now I think this one's from Arthur to Morgana, or it could also be from Arthur to Agravaine, although I'm leaning more towards the former.
It's about 99% confirmed that Agravaine will find out about Merlin being Emrys, and thus his magic, but we can't say the same for Arthur. I don't think I want Arthur finding out about Merlin's magic until the very, very last episode of the entire series, but I would like Morgana to know. Now. Please. That would show her *evil laugh*.
"There's only one person who could've done this; only one man who could command a dragon." I don't know why, but in my mind I'm thinking that they'll think that Balinor is still alive, or some other dragonlord is still alive... but not Merlin. It's never Merlin, is it? *facepalm* Or, it could be some Targaryen, Danaerys perhaps? in the most epic crossover of a lifetime. *bow*
"I just don't ever want to lose you." Maybe from Gwen to Arthur or Arthur to Gwen... or, possibly a gift to the Merthur shippers out there from the writers, you never know! It could also be from Tristan to Isolde or the other way around. Now that I think about it, yeah, I think it's from Tristan to Isolde rather than from Arthur to Gwen.
So there you have it. I can't wait for the finale!
I don't want the series to end yet though.
Dilemma!

- "They will have to find themselves a new king."

A Song of Ice and Fire, Doctor Who, Merlin, Part 1
A Song of Ice and Fire
So I just finished reading A Storm of Swords. I started reading the books after watching the HBO series Game of Thrones so needless to say, I'm one of those people whose jaw dropped to the floor when Ned Stark lost his head (quite literally). And from that day on, I hated that stupid Joffrey with every fiber of my being. That was why I rejoiced when I learned what happened to him in the third book.
For those who haven't read the books yet, here be spoilers:
Before I read A Storm of Swords, I was already kind of spoiled. This is teh internets after all. That's why the infamous Red Wedding didn't have that much of an effect on me. Although I love the Starks, I didn't really care much for Robb. He was barely in the books and even then he still managed to fuck up the very situation that could have won him the war. Meh... Although I was greatly saddened by what happened to Lady Catelyn.
I loved Sansa. I've loved her from the second book, actually. In A Game of Thrones, I hated her whiny bitch guts but she became kind of awesome as the story rolled on. I was expecting to hate her until the end of the series but I actually found myself waiting eagerly for the chapters in her point of view. Sansa FTW! But my favorite Stark would have to be Arya. She just kills everyone who gets in her way. Dream girlfriend!
The death that saddened me most in the book was... Oberyn Martell's! Yeey! I really liked the dude! He was a total badass. He was a new character so I didn't really expect him to kick the bucket yet but then, dum, dum, dum... I became a House Martell loyalist because of him. And the one that made me happiest was... hmm.. hard to say but I'd definitely put it down to either Lord Tywin's or Joffrey's death. I couldn't wipe the stupid smirk off my face as I was reading the lines. I would have to say though that Lord Tywin had a more spectacular death scene that Joffrey.
What else? Oh yeah, I loved Jaime in this book. He fucking rocked by the end. I was expecting to hate ALL the Lannisters!!! forever but I was somehow sold on Jaime. I hope he stays that way.
Everyone hates the Freys, but I kinda love 'em. They're... how do you say this? badass in the supervillain kind of way? Although they are evil murdering fucks, in my mind I picture them as a kind of Corleone family of the A Song of Ice and Fire universe.
I didn't really care much for Stannis or the Wall but I suspect I'd grow to love them some time in the fourth book.
It took me such a long time to finish the first three books and I had to stop between each book for about a month or two because I was drowning in descriptions. Everything's so very detailed... up to the food, but I couldn't help but notice that the only good kind of wine was the Dornish one?
I'd make a review for the second and the first books but I'm afraid I've forgotten most of what happened already.
A Song of Ice and Fire: So. Much. Happening. At. The. Same. Fucking. Time.
But still
I REGRET NOTHING!

I loved Sansa. I've loved her from the second book, actually. In A Game of Thrones, I hated her whiny bitch guts but she became kind of awesome as the story rolled on. I was expecting to hate her until the end of the series but I actually found myself waiting eagerly for the chapters in her point of view. Sansa FTW! But my favorite Stark would have to be Arya. She just kills everyone who gets in her way. Dream girlfriend!

From Neil Slorance's tumblr. This is fucking awesome. |
